Fano's Alt de Facto guitars are the pinnacle of perfection. Hand-built, each instrument is made to exacting specifications with a choice of pickups, color, wood, hardware and finish style. No two are the same.
The Builder's Choice instruments are dreamt up, crafted and perfected by a top builder from start to finish - and the results are unbelievable. We've been blown away by every one that we've received. This TC6 is no exception - when it landed, many here felt that it was the best Fano we've received in the many years of being a dealer. Built by Fano's head, Graham Dowling, it's hard to imagine a better one.
The single-cut shape of the TC6 echoes the traditional String-Through solid body, while breaking tradition by adding a funky pickguard for a dash of retro goodness. The combination of the plastic and metal, along with the Heavy Distress finish package, gives it a very unique aesthetic. It's familiar, but unlike anything you've seen before.
This TC6 is outfitted with a Lollar 52 T-Style bridge pickup, providing that sweet vintage sparkle and twang. Wound to Lollar's exacting specs, this gives you a clear and bright tone with a distinct round bottom end when played with a soft attack. It produces a full, fat rock tone when used with an AC 30 or a tweed amp, and the definition holds together nicely with heavier amp distortion. Features a flat-pole design with Alnico 2 magnets, wax potted coils, and vintage style cloth covered lead wire.
The neck pickup will catch you attention right away, as it's a Lollar Firebird. Not to be confused with a mini-humbucker with no poles, this humbucker has a unique design and a sound closer to a fat single coil than a full-size humbucker. Compared with a mini-humbucker, it features a brighter overall sound and a bass response that remains tight and defined noticeably longer. It also gives you less snarl and more spank. Made with Alnico 5 blade (pole piece) magnets.
The 60's style C shaped neck is extremely comfortable, and the compound radius (7.25 - 9.5") is perfect for both chording and lead playing. The back of the neck is worn in, with most of the finish removed, making it a breeze to play. This guitar has the feel and vibe of an old vintage instrument but with some modern tweaks, upgrades and reliability.
Any Fano Alt de Facto Builder's Choice is going to be amazing, and this one-of-a-kind TC6 is a great example. Come to Truetone Music to give it a try, or order right here right now before it's gone.
