Ever since the Stratocaster debuted in 1954, it has evolved, even in the earliest days.  The Strat has continued to change over the years, but for many, stepping back to how it was done in the 50's is the way to go.  The Fender Custom Shop excels at recreating the look, feel and sound of these guitars, often with special tweaks.  That's where we decided to go with this one.

As part of a close partnership with the Fender Custom Shop, we at Truetone Music enjoy cooking guitars that you don't see everyday.  For the colors, we picked unique ones that are rarely ever seen.  In this case, it's Blue Agave, which might be our new favorite color.  It's just that cool.  While the majority of Custom Shop guitars have some level of aging, from Closet Classic to Super Heavy Relic, we went in the opposite direction - we chose to do this guitar as an NOS (New Old Stock) piece.  The reason is simple: this one is just too beautiful to do anything besides NOS!

This Custom Shop '57 Stratocaster is a testament to their ability to pull off vintage recreations with modern playability, featuring a flatter radius and bigger fret size, and an otherwise traditional design.  It has a two-piece select alder body that is lightweight, a rock solid quartersawn maple neck with a 57 Style Soft "V" neck shape, and all of the correct vintage hardware.   We went with a 9.5" radius and Narrow Tall (6105) frets for easy playing and bending - this is one of the most common and popular modifications to vintage-styled guitars out of the Custom Shop.

For the pickups, we "kept it real" and chose the Custom Shop 50's Strat set, for pure, unaltered, classic 50's Fender tone.  These recreate the sound of a classic mid-50's Strat, using formvar wire, Alnico 5 magnets and a vintage stagger, with strong output and a nice, even response across the tonal spectrum.  If you like the sound of an old school Strat, you'll like this one.  Also, as another modernized tweak, we had a 5-way switch installed.

Other features include an American Vintage synchronized tremolo, vintage-style tuning machines, bone nut and a period correct 8-hole, single ply pickguard. Also includes a Custom Shop tweed hardshell case, strap and certificate of authenticity.

This could be one of more "sleek" Strats that we've had come through here.  Come to Club Fender at Truetone Music to check out this amazing guitar, or order here right now for it to be sent straight to your home.
