One of the most classic and timeless guitars in the history of guitars, the Fender Telecaster received a bit of a facelift about 10 years into its existence, with the addition of binding on both sides of the body.  This was known as the "Custom Telecaster".  During this same era, Fender switched from maple to rosewood fretboards.  For this particular Custom Shop piece, we aimed to give birth to a classic, in a classy style....but with a unique twist. 

The result is this Custom Telecaster in Olympic with a matching headstock, with Black sides, and tortoisshell binding (both top & back) and a matching pickguard.  So, you get a sandwhiched layered effect, going Olympic White > Tortoiseshell > Black > Tortoiseshell > Olympic White.  It's quite the look - and it's the only one out there like it.

While most of what you see out there is a Relic, we chose to do this one as an NOS (New Old Stock) for those that want a perfectly clean brand new guitar.  There's no aging on this one - it's too pretty to do that!

Of course, aesthetics only take you so far - it's really about the sound and feel.  The mid-60's Oval "C" neck shape on the rock-sold maple is super comfortable and very easy to play.  It's topped with a dark rosewood fretboard with a 9.5" radius and 6105 frets for easy playability.   Those are the only "modern spec" changes we went with - everything else is period correct.  The guitar is loaded with Custom Shop 63 Tele pickups, which recreate the early 60's Tele sound that is known and loved by players all over.  Whether you need country twang, hard hitting rock bottoms or glistening clean highs, this one gives it to you.

Other features included are the vintage-style tuners and bridge, a deluxe blonde hardshell case, and Certificate of Authenticity.  The guitar has been setup to play perfectly by the techs in our shop.
