The "Sound Heard Around the World".  The Fender Precision Bass is the true original.  This Custom Shop creation speaks to bass players that want the classic feel & sound, recreated in a variety of styles, specs and colors.  We cooked this one up to be an example of what a custom color P Bass would have been right off the factory line in 1963.

We chose a custom color rarely on a P Bass, Fiesta Red, and added a tortoise shell pickguard - while not seen often, it is a classic look that will be familiar to P bass fans.  For the finish package, we went with Closet Classic.  As the name suggests, this creates the appearance of an instrument that was made 50 - 60 years, but was then put away in it's case.  You'll see finish checking, some of the glossiness muted, and hardware without the shine. It gives you a really authentic old school looking bass but without any of the wear that some people to put on themselves.

All of the specs stayed "period correct", giving you the look, feel and sound of a killer vintage bass.   This '63 Precision Bass features a warm sound with a pronounced midrange, providing a pronounced sonic presence alongside simple playability. Thump, growl and power - it's everything you want.  The neck is smooth and comfortable, and features a nice, dark AAA rosewood fretboard.  The Custom Shop did a great job in finishing it, giving it the loving touch that makes it a pleasure to play.
