A True Classic

Bass players everywhere know the versatility and beauty of a Fender Jazz Bass.  They also know how the Fender Custom Shop expertly nails the vintage vibe with modern playability.  This amazing 1964 Jazz Bass is a perfect representation of that.

While some players love the look and feel of a Relic, many are now reverting back to getting a "clean" instrument.  We're seeing that more and more with the custom-spec designs that we are requested to do.  We're also seeing more requests for custom colors outside the normal palette of black, white and sunburst.  In light of that, we see this bass as a fulfilment of that desire.  

With a vintage correct nitro lacquer finish, the NOS (New Old Stock) finish gives this bass the appearance of having just come out of the factory yesterday.  No dings, no dents, no wear marks, not even finish checking - this thing is pristine and shining!  

It's not all about the looks - it's about the feel and sound.  The vintage correct neck shape is the '60 J-Bass "U", which is super comfortable to grip and play up & down the entire neck.  The "modern tweak" is the 9.5" radius and 6105 frets, giving it easy playability.  It's a quartersawn maple neck, making it very sturdy and stable, and topped off with a AAA rosewood fretboard.

For sound, it's going to be hard to beat this - the bass is loaded with Fender Custom Shop Handwound Vintage Jazz bass pickups, giving you a classic Jazz bass tone.  Whether thumping away to hold down the low end, or slapping to bring the funk, or climbing the upper register to deliver a smooth solo, this bass can do it all.
