Fender Custom Shop Masterbuilt Rosewood Telecaster

Fender built several instruments in the late 60s made completely of hand-selected rosewood. These were in production only very briefly and are now highly collectable on the vintage market. Jimi Hendrix reportedly had one of the first Rosewood Stratocaster guitars, and George Harrison of the Beatles used one of the original Rosewood Telecaster guitars on Let It Be and for the famous Apple Records rooftop concert in January 1969.  That's where the legend starts - and it continues today with the esteemed Masterbuilders at the Fender Custom Shop.

The Masterbuilt Rosewood Telecaster is once again offered here and is a meticulously crafted replica of one of the most sought after guitars in Fender history.  Truetone Music does a run of these every year, and one of them is always highly sought after - the Gloss version by Dennis Galuszka.  While almost every other Rosewood Tele out there has a satin finish, we chose to do a version with a Gloss finish, which accentuates the gorgeous wood grain that makes a Rosewood Tele so special.  This is the only one out there like it, and once it's gone, it will be more than a year until we can get another.

For the specs, we kept it vintage correct, with handwound '63 Tele pickups, a comfortable 60's Oval C neck shape with just a little thickness added, a 7.25" radius, vintage frets, and Schaller tuning keys.  We also went with the Gold "transition" decal.

About the builder:  Dennis Galuszka began building high-end acoustic guitars during his 13 years as a cabinetmaker, combining his passions for music and woodworking. As a self-taught drummer, it was a fateful audition with one of the Fender master builders that led to a job interview (and a steady gig). Hired as an apprentice, he was promoted to master builder in 1999. Galuszka has since built instruments for many influential players, including country legend Buck Owens and jazz master Robben Ford.

We specifically chose to work with Dennis on this guitar, as he's one of our favorite builders, especially for natural wood guitars.   Despite knowing how awesome every one of these that he does is, we were still blown away when it arrived.

Only available now - come to Club Fender at Truetone Music to see it yourself, or order it right here right now.
