We have the pleasure of seeing some very, very fine instruments coming out of the Fender Custom Shop here at Truetone Music, and every so often one comes along that just absolutely floors us. We just got one of those types of instruments in, and it comes in the form of a '63 Precision Bass Master Built by one of Fenders newest Master Builders, Vincent Van Trigt. Without a doubt, one of the best P Basses we've gotten in. From look, to sound to feel to playability, to true vintage replication, this bass has it all!!!
This bass was made to re create a very well known P Bass used by a players player. We took this persons P Bass to Vincent to make recreate, and the end result exceeded all of our expectations. We can't say who's bass it was modeled after, but please feel free to tRy and guess. Being one of the newest Master Builders at Fender, this is one of Vincents first Master Builds.
Let's get the obvious and most asked question out of the way. This is one of the lightest P Basses around at only 7.5 pounds! Incredibly light for a P Bass!! Playing this one will instantly transport you to the decade of this instruments prime. Amazing feeling neck, and tone. The flat wound strings played through the Hand Wound Josefina P Bass pickup sound as authentic as can be. Coupled with the amazing heavy relicing job, this bass is a force to be reckoned with.
