Mayones Cali 4 Bass Buckey Burl Antique Black with Case

It might be half the size of Mayones custom series basses, but the Cali 4 carries the same design philosophy & great tone, playability and highest attention to build quality and ergonomy.  Straight out of Poland, the Mayones Cali 4 bass is like nothing else out there.

Neck-through-body construction, beautiful top wood, highest quality fit & finish – no step has been skipped.  This ensures that Cali 4 basses are 100% up to the Mayones quality that's expected from one of the premier builders in Europe.  It has also the additional feature of a perfect travel companion due to its compact size. It’s easy to carry, pack and set up to play everywhere & every time.  Not only that, but you can plug headphones directly into the bass.

The goal and intention is to save as much wood as they can in the production pipeline – the Cali 4 is built from leftovers of quality woods used for the full-size instruments, which are too small to use in a regular-sized instrument. It`s available in a limited number of instruments per year - we always try to grab as many as we can.

This one in particular is quite stunning, featuring a Buckeye Burl top, Swamp Ash body.  The Antique Black finish shows the exotic wood grain beautifully.  It has an 11 ply neck made of Maple, mahogany, Wenge and Amazakoe.  A nice touch is Maple logo, which you don't see very often on these.  Every Cali 4 is unique, and this is the first we've had exactly like this - and we love it.

The Cali 4 is loaded with a single Velvetrone Noble humbucker, which sounds amazing.  Despite this being a rather tiny bass, the resulting tone is anything but tiny - it's big, fat and full.  This is an active bass with a Musashi Nitoryu preamp and 3-band EQ, which you can switch to passive (the volume control is a push/pull pot).  

Other features include an Ebony nut, black hardware, Luminlay side dots, Schaller M6 locking tuners and metal dome knobs.  The bass comes with Schaller Security locks.  A very nice Mayones Hybrid Soft Case is included, as is the Certificate of Authenticity.

Mayones Cali4 basses are very hard to come by, and always go fast, so don't lets this one go by!
