The world was changing in 1996, with the Clinton as president, the Internet just taking form, and artists like The Wallflowers, Smashing Pumpkins was Alanis Morissette all over MTV (back then, the channel actually still played music videos!).  That's when this incredible Fender 50th Anniversary Stratocaster was created.  In the time since, the world has changed even more but this still brings everything you love from one of the most inconic guitars ever.

The serial number translates to 1995 but this limited edition model came out in 1996, to celebrate the 50th Anniversary of Fender.  We believe this makes it one of the first ones made from that run.  This stunning American Standard Stratocaster combines timeless aesthetics with exceptional tone and playability, making it an essential piece for any Strat enthusiast. The 50th Anniversary decal on the back of the headstock highlights its unique status, but ultimately, it delivers the smooth feel and classic sound expected from a high-quality American-made Strat.

An alder body, matched with a sturdy maple neck that's topped with a rosewood fretboard, brings a 60's vibe - this model wasn't meant to represent the anniversary of the creation of the Stratocaster in 1954, it's to celebrate Fender as a whole, so they could adjust the specs as needed to provide variety to the offering of anniversary models.  It has a Modern C neck profile, along with a 9.5" radius and medium jumbo frets, making it a breeze to play and a nice feel.  Other features include a 2 point tremolo bridge, modern tuners 3-ply white pickguard and three vintage-style single coil pickups to give you true Strat tone.

The guitar is in good condition, with normal player wear expected after nearly 30 years (hard to believe it's been that long since 1996!).  There are marks on the body and neck but nothing too major.  So while if you're on the hunt for mint, this isn't it, if you want a true player to take out on stage, this could be it.  The techs in our shop have set it up to play perfectly, so it's ready to go!
