This instrument is from the personal collection of the late Brad Pie who played guitar in the 1990’s with the great Johnny Otis. Along with Johnny’s sons - Shuggie Otis (Guitar) and Nicky Otis (Drums) - Brad contributed guitar to the 1992 Grammy-Nominated “Spirits of the Black Territory Bands” by the Johnny Otis & His Orchestra group. Many of the instruments from Brad’s collection are uniquely modified and come with various customized accessories. This particular instrument comes with the following:
The guitar has been customized with an aftermarket set of knobs. A hardshell case is included. Inside of it you'll find a nice strap and tuner.
This bass has a select alder body with classic contours and 3-tone Sunburst finish that really shows the wood grain. The bolt-on maple neck has a modern "C" shape with a 9.5" radius with a sleek satin finish. This neck has 22 medium jumbo frets with a bone nut.
With its three-band active EQ and pickup combination of a vintage Precision Bass pickup and special-design humbucking pickup, you get a incredibly wide range of tones. The humbucker gives you the thickest of bass tones while the single-coil balances with excellent articulation. The stacked knobs provide endless tonal combinations to choose from.
Hardware is important and this bass still gives you deluxe features with its Deluxe chrome-plated (Strings-Thru-Body or Top Load) bridge and nickel-plated brass saddles. This Fender American Deluxe P-Bass has Hipshot Ultralite deluxe lightweight tuners that have a lower gear ratio for more precise tuning and a smooth feel.
This bass is in excellent condition and has been setup to play perfectly by the techs in our shop. After nearly 20 years, it's super clean. For those wanting a high quality American-made P bass with modern features, at a great price, this is a serious score!
