We have an iconic Gibson Custom Shop guitar to offer up, the classic R7 1957 Les Paul Goldtop Reissue. This is a heartfelt recreation of the vintage instrument that would change the face of music. Released in 1957, this was the first Les Paul to come with the life-changing pickups, humbuckers! The world has never been the same since.
This Les Paul features a beautiful Goldtop finish, accented beautifully by cream binding and matching cream pickguard. The mahogany body and maple top creates a super resonant guitar, anchored by a stopbar tailpiece and ABR-1 bridge. The neck is beefy, as to be expected (if you're looking for a super slim neck, this just isn't the one). It's a one-piece mahogany neck, also perfectly accented with cream binding, with tortoise side-dots. The gorgeous Madagascar Rosewood fingerboard caught our eye right away - the figuring on it is striking, and it's outfitted with with mother of pearl trapezoid inlays. It has a 1 11/16" nut width and 24 3/4" scale length. For electronics, the stock Gibson '57 Classic Humbuckers with cream bezels & nickel covers and in tact. The guitar has dual volume & tone controls with gold "top hat" knobs, a 3-way toggle switch and Bumble Bee caps.
This guitar is in great condition, and has been setup to play perfectly by the techs in our shop. There are a few nicks and dings on the back of the body and one on the neck, from the top is super clean. It comes with a hardshell case and the certificate of authenticity, making it the complete package.
A Gibson Custom Shop guitar is a special thing, and a Goldtop R7 is seen by many as the cream of the crop. This one was built in 2008, considered to be a great era for Gibson. It plays wonderfully and has all of that classic, iconic Les Paul tone you'd ever want. Get it now before it's gone!
