We have one of the most legendary Gretsch reissues with this G6122T-62 Vintage Select Edition '62 Chet Atkins Country Gentleman! It hails from 2022 and is great shape. This is a high-spec, period-correct time machine that recreates one of the most sophisticated guitars of the early 1960s. This isn't just a tribute it’s a meticulous "Vintage Select" recreation of the dark-stained masterpiece that helped define the sounds of Chet Atkins and George Harrison.
Built with a double-cutaway hollow body made of 3-ply maple, it features painted F-holes, a classic design choice intended to reduce feedback while maintaining the rich, resonant acoustic thump that makes a Gretsch a Gretsch. The maple neck comes with a standard "U" profile and an ebony fingerboard adorned with aged pearloid thumbnail inlays.
The tone of this Country Gent comes from a pair of TV Jones Classic humbucking pickups. These are the industry standard for capturing that authentic "Filter'Tron" magic—delivering a crystal clear, bell-like high end and a growling, percussive low end that cuts through any mix. The control circuit is vintage-spec, featuring a 3-position tone switch (the "mud switch"), individual pickup volumes, and a master volume with a treble bleed circuit that maintains clarity even when you roll back the volume. For the ultimate vintage experience, it includes the onboard string mutes, allowing you to engage a felt-lined dampener for that dry, percussive sounds that Chet himself would use.
The hardware is premium, with a Bigsby B6GVT vibrato tailpiece and a "rocking" bar bridge with a pinned ebony base, giving solid tuning while you're dipping into those classic surf or country wobbles. It is finished in a deep, lush Walnut Stain with gold hardware and a gold plexi pickguard, the G6122T-62 is a "gentleman" in every sense of the word; elegant, sophisticated, and packing a serious punch.
The guitar has been setup to play perfectly by the techs in our shop, is in great condition and comes with the original hardshell case. It's ready for it's next home.
