Used And Vintage

We just took in a sweet guitar, the Airline ’59 Coronado DLX.  It brings the unmistakable look and vibe of the classic fiberglass Airline and Supro guitars while adding a modern, player-friendly touch. Built by Eastwood Guitars as a tribute to the original ’50s Coronado and Martinique models, it delivers plenty of vintage character with the reliability and playability you want from a modern instrument.

The tone-chambered mahogany body features a distinctive German carve top and back, gloss white finish, and signature rubber body binding. Rather than the fragile Res-O-Glas construction found on the originals, the Airline uses mahogany for a warmer, more resonant feel with added sustain and durability.  The bolt-on maple neck features a bound rosewood fingerboard with pearloid block inlays, and a zero-fret design.   With a comfortable 25.5" scale length and 1 11/16" nut width, it feels familiar and easy to play.

Under the hood, you get a pair of Alnico Hot-10 humbuckers, each with its own volume and tone control.  With that, you get plenty of flexibility from clean, woody textures to thick, punchy overdrive. A 3-way toggle keeps pickup selection simple.  This is a great sounding guitar that is surprisingly versatile for a variety of styles.  A licensed Bigsby vibrato is paired with a TonePros roller bridge and Wilkinson Kluson-style tuners, giving you much better tuning stability and smoother vibrato performance than you’d expect from a vintage-inspired design.

The guitar is in excellent condition - and as you probably noticed, the back has spiders.  Not real spiders - they're stickers.  Why?  Why not!  The previous owner put them on - we debated taking them off, but took a vote here and it was unanimous to keep them.  So the spiders stayed.  But, if you don't want them, the stickers could be easily removed.

This Airline ’59 Coronado DLX is a great find, especially at this price with a hardshell case included.  Setup to play perfectly by the techs in our shop, it's ready to go.
