MATURITY AND UNIQUE PERSONALITY
Guitars from the Bluegrass Goose series are crafted and engineered to meet the very high requirements of bluegrass guitarists performing live or in the studio. They offer a large presence on stage due to the method of construction and choices of woods. The Bluegrass Goose guitar is as “present” as all other bluegrass instruments whether you are strumming or soloing. Robin Boucher personally selects Adirondack red spruce for the bracing and soundboard in order to give the instrument its special bluegrass sonority. Rich low ends, driving mids and beefy highs describe the sound spectrum of our Bluegrass Goose. They are incredibly easy to play due to the elevated soundboard radius and the unique profile of the neck which will perfectly match the hand of the guitarist. Dreaming of such a guitar? Here it is.
The BG-52 is crafted and engineered to meet the very high requirements of bluegrass guitarists. It's a dreadnaught model in the Blues Goose series. The torrefied AAAA Adirondack red spruce top, combined with the East Indian Rosewood back & sides, sounds amazing - a very balanced output, full of projection without being overly boomy, and just the right amount of top end sizzle to help cut through. This is a seriously impressive acoustic. The high gloss finish looks very nice, and the satin finish on the mahogany neck is very comfortable.
This particular guitar has been upgrade with not only the Gold Pack, but also the Master Grade Pack. This puts it on a whole another level. From the torrefied top to the koa binding, these two packages really enhance this guitar.
Maturity is a great quality, particularly when it comes to acoustic guitars. In 2010, Boucher Guitars innovated by developing with the collaboration of The University Laval of Quebec, a unique roasting process that accelerates the aging of its Adirondack red spruce soundboards by eliminating lignin, but without altering its essential components of the wood, cellulose and hemicellulose. This industry first resulted in the launch of their famous Gold Touch® top option at NAMM 2011. Optional on our guitars from the Studio Goose and Bluegrass Goose Series, the GOLD PACK® also includes gold plated machine head tuners. For those who want to afford “sound maturity” without the long wait.
The world of guitar making proclaims that at least 70% of the sound properties of a high-end acoustic guitar have a connection with its soundboard and bracing. Boucher Guitars supports this view. The quality of the materials used in the making of a soundboard is, therefore, crucial. The Adirondack red spruce is, to everyone, the Holy Grail of wood species to consider when designing soundboards. However, its great rarity limits its use among manufacturers. Imagine the impact of a “Master Grade” Adirondack red spruce soundboard on the sonority of your guitar! And that is not all! All Boucher guitars with the MASTER GRADE PACK® include a rosette ornamented with abalone inlay and Koa body bindings. This is to support the quality assurance and extreme rarity of a Master Grade Adirondack soundboard.
This is one of two Boucher guitars we just took in, and couldn't be more impressed. It plays amazingly, especially after being setup by the techs in our shop. It's in excellent condition and comes with the original hardshell case. If you're in the market for a high-quality acoustic, you would be hard pressed to find one nicer than this one.
