Pre-Owned Fender MIJ HJG-66KC VI Ikebe Limited Kurt Cobain Jaguar 3-Tone Sunburst With Case

Whether you're a Nirvana fan, a Fender fan, or just some that appreciates super cool guitars, we have something here for you that is quite hard to find:  a Fender HJG-66KC VI Ikebe Limited Kurt Cobain Signature Jaguar.  Made in Japan, this is a rare limited edition guitar modeled after specific modifications on Cobain's original 1965 Fender Jaguar.  Released as a special limited run via the Japanese retailer Ikebe Gakki, mirroring distinct phases of Cobain's personal guitar evolution, it's been in demand ever since.

The Ikebe run of Cobain Jaguars came in three different configurations, corresponding to three periods of modifications on Cobain's own Jaguar - here we have the VI version.   The IV model features DiMarzio Humbuckers with a traditional Jazzmaster control layout; the V model features three chrome control knobs instead of the original two; the VI model replaces the pickup selector dip switches with a Gibson-style three way toggle.

The guitar has an alder body with a classic 3-color sunburst finish, and a very comfortable maple neck that has a C profile and 1.65" nut width.  It's topped with a rosewood fretboard that has a period correct 7.25" radius and pearloid dots, and capped with Kluson tuners.   It's easy to play and feels great.

You get powerful DiMarzio humbucking pickups to create a strong tonal foundation for both rhythm and lead playing.  This American made set consists of the DP100 Super Distortion (bridge) and DP103 PAF (neck).  These are high ouput picks that really sound great, and you can dial in your desired sound with the modified controls.

As a big added bonus, this guitar has some really nice aftermwarket upgrades.  It comes with a Spitfire pickguard, a higher quality Gotoh bridge, and a US-made prewired wiring harness with US-made pots.  This specific spitfire pickguard is also designed to emulate Kurt’s actual pickguard of the original Jaguar he had.  Spitfire pickguards are considered the most authentic recreations and are high-ticket add ons.  Even at the Fender Custom Shop, Spitfire pickguards are only available on Masterbuilt instruments.

The guitar is in good condition with honest player wear (see photos) and comes with a nice Fender molded hardshell case.  Setup to play perfectly by the techs in our shop, this one is ready to go.....and it will go quick, as it's a rare animal to find!
