Vintage 1991 Ibanez RG570 Purple Neon with Case

For fans of old school Ibanez, here's a winner: this 1991 RG570 in the ultra cool finish of People Neon.  We just took this one in, which is looking, playing and sounding like the killer axe that is is.

Before the Prestige line existed, Japanese-made RG570s were Ibanez's go-to shred machines, and the early ones are still sought after for their original Edge tremolo and thin Wizard neck. This example wears Purple Neon, one of the signature RG colors of the period.  The black hardware looks great on it - this one has a great vibe overall.  The one-piece maple Wizard neck is thin and flat, built for fast runs, with 24 jumbo frets on a rosewood fingerboard and a 25.5" scale. Deep cutaways leave the upper frets easy to reach, and the basswood body keeps this one at a comfortable 7.4 lbs.

The HSH pickup layout and five-way switch give you humbucker crunch at either end, plus single-coil and combination sounds in the in-between positions for cleaner parts.  These pickups were made by DiMarzio for Ibanez.  You get the following: 

• Neck Pickup: Ibanez V1 humbucker
• Middle Pickup: Ibanez S1 single-coil
• Bridge Pickup: Ibanez V2 humbucker

The V1 and V2 pickups are ceramic-magnet humbuckers designed for high-gain rock and metal, matched with a noise-canceling/balanced S1 single-coil in the middle.  It's a great set.

The original Edge double-locking tremolo is one of the most respected floating bridges Ibanez ever made, and with the locking nut and Gotoh tuners it holds tuning through heavy usage.  Dive bomb to your heart's delight

This RG570 has definitely been played, so it shows scratches, most noticeably on the top, and has dings and wear on the body but overall it's pretty clean.  The neck and frets are in great shape.  Setup to play perfectly by the Ibanez expert in our shop, it's ready to go.  The comes with its original tremolo arm and a hardshell case.  This is a great find.
