Pre-Owned Wesley Brandt Hermann Houser Classical Guitar Natural With Pickup With Case

For aficionados of boutique acoustic guitars, especially classicals, we have something quite special here.  It's the only one in existence.  Built in 1995 by the late master luthier Wesley Brandt, this guitar is based on Andres Segovia's Hermann Houser guitar.  When it came to Portland for a bit of restoration before going to the Metropolitan Museum of Art, exact measurements were taken.  From, that, Brandt was able to recreate the guitar's specifications.  He never built another - this is one of one.

Wes Brandt was a legendary luthier in the Pacific Northwest for decades, before relocating to The Netherlands.  Sadly, he is no longer with us but the legacy lives on with amazing instruments such as this one.

The guitar was meticulously crafted by a true master.  Upon close examination you can see what a gifted artist Wes was.  He took it to the extreme, right down to the tiny superficial worm holes on the back that he filled with gold.  The guitar has rosewood back & sides with an Engleman spruce top, paired with a Honduran mahogany neck that's capped with an ebony fretboard.  It is exceptionally sweet in tone.  The bass is big and powerful, without being overwhelming.  The mids and highs are sweet and warm.  Overall, it is very well balanced across the tonal spectrum.

Other features include a Brazilian rosewood bridge, European pearwood binding, and a Briarwood rosette.  The finish has multiple coats of hand applied French polish, and looks fantastic.  Thin, clear tap plates were added to protect the finish.  

Also, a K&K Pure Classic pickup was added.  This is a 4-head transducer specifically made for nylon string classical guitars.  It's passive, so no battery or on board electronics are needed.  It features 4 individual sensor heads that mount directly to the bringe plate inside the guitar.  From this, you get a warm, rich and natural sound - you lose nothing, and it never sounds harsh.  For a pure, authentic acoustic tone, this is the way to go.

Included with the guitar is the original hardshell case, as well as a protective cover for the case.

This amazing Wes Brandt build has had one owner since it was built in 1995, and has been kept in great condition.  It's now available on the open market for the first time.  It is a special guitar to hold, and it speaks with its own unique voice.  The quality of the build is impeccable. It is worthy of any stage and any level of performance.  You won't see another out there, as it is truly one of a kind.
