Taylor Custom Grand Concert 12-Fret Koa Shaded Edgeburst Catch # 31 with Case
CATCH EVENT CUSTOM
At this year's NAMM show in Anaheim, Taylor put on an unforgettable dealer event on the rooftop of a hotel, showing a set of extremely limited and special guitars, known as the Catch Event. Here, dozens of one-of-a-kind Taylor guitars were displayed. We had the opportunity to participate and were fortunate to score a few guitars - this is one of them.
Truetone is proud to present this Taylor Custom Grand Concert 12-Fret. An amazing example of what the expert luthiers at Taylor can do, this guitar has solid Hawaiian Koa top, back & sides, creating a visual masterpiece. It's further enhanced by the Douglas Fir Herringbone rosette, Hwaiian Koa binding, and Pale Green Abalone Reflections inlays on the fretboard and headstock. Another nice touch is the inclusion of ebony bridge pins, which suit the guitar perfectly. Be sure to zoom in on the photos to see the exquisiteness and intricacy of this carefully handcrafted work.
Koa's colors and grain are aesthetically pleasing, while its sound is renowned for its bright, mid-range forward timbre, as well as its sweetness and complexity which develops with age. The tonal qualities of Koa blend mahogany’s midrange with maple’s top end, and its density contributes to a bright, tight tone similar to maple when first played; however, when played more frequently, the sound opens up, widening the midrange and providing a fuller, more resonant tone.
The Neo-tropical Mahogany neck has Taylor's Standard Carve neck profile and 24 7/8" scale length, with the neck meeting the body at the 12th fret, making this compact guitar very comfortable. The neck is topped with a West African Crelicam Ebony fretboard. It's incredibly smooth and easy to play, just as you'd expect from a Taylor like this.
Featuring Taylor's proprietary V-Class bracing, this guitar allows the soundboard to flex naturally while providing increased rigidity along the center. This technology increases volume and sustain, while creating a precise response from the soundboard. Resulting sounds are full, consistent and harmonious along the fretboard. V-Class represents a new design platform, adaptable to different body styles and capable of infusing each with its own sonic identity.
The Custom Grand Concert is equipped with ES2 electronics (with Taylor Sense), for the best, "truest" tone possible when plugged in. Other features include satin black tuners & buttons, a West African Crelicam Ebony bridge, and a deluxe hardshell case.
Obviously this is a special guitar - and one that you haven't seen the exact likes of before. Come to Truetone Music to experience it today, or order right here for it to be expertly packed and safely shipped to your home.
