CATCH EVENT CUSTOM
At this year's NAMM show in Anaheim, Taylor put on an unforgettable dealer event on the rooftop of a hotel, showing a set of extremely limited and special guitars, known as the Catch Event. Here, dozens of one-of-a-kind Taylor guitars were displayed. We had the opportunity to participate and were fortunate to score a few guitars - this is one of them.
Truetone is proud to present this Taylor Custom Grand Theater. An amazing example of what the expert luthiers at Taylor can do, this guitar has solid Tasmanian Blackwood top, back & sides, creating a visual masterpiece. It's further enhanced by the stunning paua abalone rosette and inlays on both the fretboard and the headstock. Another nice touch is the inclusion of custom bridge pins, which match perfectly. Be sure to zoom in on the photos to see the exquisiteness and intricacy of this carefully handcrafted work.
Tasmanian Blackwood’s sound is close to that of koa or mahogany in its midrange focus and warmth, with the addition of top-end shimmer and richness typically found in rosewood. That's why it's become a favorite of players recently - it's a very versatile sound, suitable for a variety of body sizes and musical styles. Plus, it looks amazing! The Neo-tropical Mahogany neck has Taylor's GT Carve neck profile and 24 1/8" scale length, making this compact guitar very comfortable. The neck is topped with a West African Crelicam Ebony fretboard. It's incredibly smooth and easy to play, just as you'd expect from a Taylor like this.
The guitar features Taylor's proprietary C-Class bracing, which was developed for the smaller Taylor GT body shape. It leverages some of the foundational, tone-enhancing ideas behind V-Class design to boost the volume and sustain. Featuring an asymmetrical, cantilevered design (thus the “C” in C-Class), this unique architecture emphasizes the lower frequencies to produce a surprisingly powerful bass response from a smaller-bodied guitar. The overall sound is sweet, focused and responsive, with a tonal output that sonically punches above its weight class.
The Custom Grand Theater C21e is equipped with ES2 electronics (with Taylor Sense), for the best, "truest" tone possible when plugged in. Other features include satin black tuners & buttons, a West African Crelicam Ebony bridge, and a Aerocase.
Obviously this is a special guitar - and one that you haven't seen the exact likes of before. Come to Truetone Music to experience it today, or order right here for it to be expertly packed and safely shipped to your home.
