CATCH EVENT CUSTOM

At this year's NAMM show in Anaheim, Taylor put on an unforgettable dealer event on the rooftop of a hotel, showing a set of extremely limited and special guitars, known as the Catch Event.  Here, dozens of one-of-a-kind Taylor guitars were displayed.  We had the opportunity to participate and were fortunate to score a few guitars - this is one of them.

Truetone is proud to present this Taylor Custom Grand Symphony 8-String Baritone.  An amazing example of what the expert luthiers at Taylor can do, this guitar has solid Hawaiian Koa top, back & sides, creating a visual masterpiece. It's further enhanced by the stunning binding and rosette, featuring Rosewood and Paua.  Additionally, it's adorned with Mother-of-Pearl Fountain inlays on the fretboard and headstock.  The stained Maple pickguard is a really nice touch too.  Be sure to zoom in on the photos to see the exquisiteness and intricacy of this carefully handcrafted work.

This is an 8-string baritone with a totally distinctive voice.  It blends koa's clarity and warmth with a high-fidelity, surround-sound experience.  It has a room-filling sound worthy of the Grand Symphony body shape, with a response full of power, sustain and a harmonious sound between notes throughout the tonal spectrum. Koa's gorgeous visual character is accented with a perfectly done matte finish, something that Taylor does better than anyone.

The Neo-tropical Mahogany neck has Taylor's Standard Carve neck profile, and is topped with a West African Crelicam Ebony fretboard, with matching binding.  The extended scale (27") will feel familiar to baritone players, and is also comfortable for those that aren't used to it.  It's incredibly smooth and easy to play, just as you'd expect from a Taylor like this.  The Florentine cutaway provides easy access - and of course looks super cool too.

The C26ce is equipped with ES2 electronics (with Taylor Sense), for the best, "truest" tone possible when plugged in.  Other features include polished bronze tuners/buttons, West African Crelicam Ebony bridge pins, and a deluxe hardshell case.
