Used '96 Fender Custom Shop 50th Anniversary Diamond Dealer Stratocaster Cunetto Relic Aztec Gold

We are proud to present a highly collectible guitar: the Custom Shop 50th Anniversary "Diamond Dealer" Stratocaster, with Relic work by the esteemed Vince Cunetto.  1 of only 200 made, these don't become available very often.  This guitar was hard to get when it originally came out, and even more so now.  It includes the original tweed/metal case and gig bag (which goes inside) and other accessories.  

In the mid-90's Fender released the "Diamond Collection", which was a series of 6 guitars that were only available to selected retailers, known as "Diamond Dealers".  This essentially kicked off the start of the Custom Shop.  These became instant collector's items and have been sought after ever since.  In 1996, the 50th Anniversary was released as part of this collection.  It featured the work of Vince Cunetto, who at that time was doing all of the Relic work for the Custom Shop.  He was a pioneer in the creation of "aged" guitars and Fender fanatics will recognize his name immediately.  "Cunetto era" instruments hold a special place in the history of the Fender Custom Shop.  Guitars that he worked on have become very desirable in general, and none more so than the ones he did for the Diamond Collection.

This particular Strat is # 84 of 200.  It features a gorgeous birdseye maple neck, Soft V profile, 9.5 radius and is extremely comfortable to play.  It sounds amazing too, courtesy of the Custom Shop 50's Strat pickups.  The lacquer finish has aged perfectly, with the Aztec Gold color getting darker over the years.  The aforementioned Relic work by Vince Cunetto gives it the perfect vintage vibe.

This guitar comes with a very special case, which, as far as we know, was only made for this model.  It's a solid metal case with a tweed covering, big enough to hold the guitar in the gig bag that it comes in.  This is the complete package.
