Used And Vintage Basses

In 2010, Fender celebrated the 50th Anniversary of the legendary Jazz Bass with a limited edition that got bass players' attention immediately.  Ever since then, this model has been in demand and hard to get.  We were thrilled to see it come in the door recently.

The Fender Jazz Bass guitar was first delivered to the world in 1960. If the Precision® was a muscle car, the new Jazz bass was a sports car. Although remarkably unchanged since its introduction half a century ago, the Jazz Bass did see a very gradual succession of subtle design refinements over the course of the past five decades. Accordingly, the 50th anniversary Jazz Bass is a truly distinctive instrument in that it boasts design touches from several periods in Jazz Bass history.  Instead of being year specific it's a "best of" different eras.  Unique features include:

  • White Pearloid Block Position Inlays
  • Matching Painted Headstock
  • ‘60s Style Lacquer Finish
  • Vintage Tinted Neck, Buffed Fingerboard, Highly Detailed Nut (Bone) and Fret Work, Rolled Fingerboard Edges
  • Rounded Body Shape
  • ‘62 Fender Logo
  • ‘70s Bridge Pickup Position
  • ‘70s Style Bass-Side Thumb Rest
  • ‘00s Style HMV Bridge with Chromed Brass Saddles and Black Plate, and Chromed Steel Base Plate
  • ‘00s Lightweight Fender/Hipshot Vintage Tuning Keys
  • ‘00s Posiflex Graphite Neck Support Rods
  • Stealth “A” String Retainer
  • Chrome Bridge and Pickup Covers Mounted at the Factory
  • Black Plastic Parts

The C shaped maple neck is super comfortable to play, and topped with a rosewood fretboard that has a modern 9.5" radius and Medium Jumbo frets.  It plays effortlessly.  Of course, it sounds great, thanks to the American Vintage '75 single coil Jazz Bass pickups.  For anyone that is in need of a versatile, high quality and unique Jazz bass, this is a great fit.  Not to mention collectible!

The original hardshell case is included, as is the paperwork, strap and cable (never used).  We just took this one in on trade, and the techs in our shop set it up to play perfectly.  The bass is in great shape, with a few paint chips/dings (see photos for detailed shots of everything).  We don't see it lasting long - grab this one now before it's gone.
