The year 1995 was a landmark in the history of the Fender Custom Shop - the year it introduced the world to Relic guitars. By offering authentic tone and broken-in feel of the original '50s models without requiring decades of use, the introduction blindsided the industry. The guitar world hasn't been the same since.
In 2016, Fender came out with this limited run of 95 guitars (a tribute to the year the relics were originally released). They sold out quickly and have been hard to find ever since.
A lightweight ash body, perfectly done Relic treatment on a lacquer finish, a rock solid quartersawn maple neck with fat Nocaster U shape, all combine to create the old school feel you want from a guitar like this. Throw in the Custom Shop Hand-Wound '51 Nocaster pickups for authentic tone, and this is the complete package.
