Here we have an exquisite archtop guitar from legendary builder D'Angelico. The EXL-1 is an homage to master-builder John D’Angelico’s original archtop design.  This is one of the early models, as part of the premium Excel Series.  It's quite the find for players that appreciate D'Angelico's commitment to quality and design of unique instruments.
 
The EXL-1 radiates sophistication through the use of a laminated spruce top, maple back, and unique stairstep tailpiece, pickguard and tuners. Its floating pickup design creates vibrant resonance, making it well-equipped for both full, smoky chords and intricate lead melodies. In terms of quality, playability, and style, the EXL-1 captures the essence of its mid-century predecessor and is offered at an appealing price. It is often referred to as the "dream guitar" by numerous jazz musicians.
 
Experience the legendary archtop design of John D'Angelico with the modern-day counterpart, the EXL-1. This exceptional guitar features a USA-made Seymour Duncan Johnny Smith Floating Mini-Humbucker, precisely crafted to enhance the acoustic tone of its commanding 17-inch-wide, 3-inch-deep body. Adorned with Art Deco-inspired details, such as a scroll-style neck bevel, mother-of-pearl inlays on an ebony bridge, and split-block inlays on a pau ferro fingerboard, the EXL-1 exudes elegance and sophistication.
  

This particular one is in excellent condition, and setup by to play perfectly by the techs in our shop.  The original hardshell case is included.  For those that know, this is a special guitar - and we expect it to go fast.
