Used 2020 Fender Custom Shop 1960 Stratocaster Journeyman Relic Sherwood Green w OHSC

We just took in this absolutely sublime Fender Custom Shop 1960 Strat, in the super cool color of Aged Sherwood Green.  The "aged" part of that is a process that the Custom Shop uses to tame the color down, so it's not quite bright, with the visual effect of having been aged for decades.  This is a Journeyman Relic, so it has all of the appearances of a guitar that has been played for years, but also cared for.  There is finish checking, scratches, and small dings, but not an extreme amount of wear and tear.  This finish package has become the most popular for Custom Shop guitars in recent years, and we can see why.

The main feature of this guitar is the pickup set.  Dual-Mag Strat pickups feature well-balanced tone, shimmering clear highs and balanced rich lows.  This is a vintage style calibrated set with unbeveled alnico 5 magnets on the bass side and beveled alnico 2 magnets on the treble side.  The two magnet types create balance and consistency in tone, and allow for improved clarity from string to string.

The guitar also features a lightweight alder body with a perfectly done Journeyman Relic lacquer finish.  It comes in at just 7.4 lbs.  The maple neck is topped with with a flat-lam rosewood fingerboard, ’60-style oval “C” back-shape, 9.5” fingerboard radius and 21 medium jumbo frets.  It's a super comfortable neck, perfectly worn in just a bit.  This neck shape is the most popular one chosen on custom builds.

Other features include Custom Shop vintage-style synchronized tremolo, vintage-style tuning machines, bone nut and a wing string tree with metal spacer. Also includes the original deluxe hardshell case, strap and certificate of authenticity.
