 The Rosewood Stratocaster

A stunning Stratocaster has landed at Truetone Music.   We are fortunate enough to have sold some of the coolest Fender Custom Shop guitars out there - and sometimes we are twice as lucky, when one of these guitars comes back from the original order and we get to sell it a second time!  This is one of those occasions.

Most everyone has seen a Rosewood Tele, as made famous by George Harrison, but most have not seen a Rosewood Strat.  Even fewer have seen something as delicious as a Custom Shop Masterbuilt version of the Rosewood Strat.  That's what this is.  It's inspired by a legendary guitar - according to Fender, when two Rosewood Tele were made for Harrison, two Rosewood Strats were made for Jimi Hendrix.  Unfortunately, they never got into his hands.  While the specs were different, this guitar is reminiscent of what could have been, and in some ways, was - after all, the Rosewood Strats were in fact actually built.

This amazing reimagination of a 1968 Rosewood Strat was expertly crafted by Paul Waller, a veteran Masterbuilder at the Fender Custom Shop.  It's all rosewood, of course, other than the maple center piece (sandwiched by the top & bottom pieces of the body).  While it's also all vintage, the guitar does have the playability of a modern Strat, with a 9.5" radius and 6105 (Narrow Tall) frets.  The '66 Oval C neck shape is super comfortable to play - it's slim, but has enough thickness to feel like a proper vintage Strat.  It sounds amazing too, thanks to the Custom Shop '66 Strat pickups, which provide all of the clarity and bite to be expected out of a mid 60's Strat.  The 3-ply black pickguard looks great on the Rosewood body, offset by the white pickup covers and knobs.  Obviously the wood grain is the star of the show here, aesthetically speaking.

As mentioned, this is this guitar's second time calling Truetone home.  The original owner is a long-time client and local collector - not really a player, so this guitar is in pristine condition.  It comes with the original hardshell case, Certificate of Authenticity and other paperwork.

If you're looking for something that is both classic and unique, and that is rarely found, this is it.  Come to Club Fender at Truetone Music to try it out, or make it yours right here now!
