Used And Vintage Electric GuitarsHave we got a guitar for you, yup we do! The Gibson SG is one of the most iconic electric guitars and this one is based on an iconic year 1961.  It's a high quality build, made right here in America.

The highly sought-after Gibson SG Standard '61, outfitted with its Slim Taper mahogany neck, bound rosewood fingerboard, and deeply sculpted body scarfing, retains the same design that has made it popular for decades, as heard in various genres of music. Featuring a timeless 5-ply teardrop pickguard, an impressive 22nd-fret neck joint, nickel-plated hardware, and a classic-style Tune-O-Matic bridge and keystone tuners, the SG Standard '61 is a true classic, especially with it's distinctive Lyre engraving on the tailpiece cover.

This guitar has been upgraded with Seymour Duncan Antiquity (neck) and JB (bridge). The Vibrola has been replaced with a stop tailpiece and the back of neck has been sanded down a bit for the smoothest of feels.  The upgrade audio taper potentiometers and orange drop capacitors complete the package.

The Antiquity neck humbucker delivers an articulate, yet mellow tone that results from a perfectly balanced frequency response that combines a soft, sweet treble attack with a warm, full sounding low-end. The custom aged Alnico 2 bar magnet creates an airy openness to the top-end that gives chords clarity and articulation, while the vintage output coils really bring out the rich harmonic content. Single notes have a beautiful singing quality with just the right amount of treble emphasis.

The SH-4, known as the JB Model, is Seymour Duncan's most popular pickup of all time, and for good reason.  It's a modern classic.  Whether it's for hard rock, country, blues or fusion, the JB has always sounded just right, even as new genres emerged around it. The low end is full and powerful, the highs are crisp and detailed and there’s an upper-midrange bump that adds crunch and chunk to heavy chords but translates to a singing, vocal-like quality when you play single notes or solos. Meanwhile the hot output pushes your amp just that little bit harder for more sustain and harmonics.

This guitar is in great condition (see photos for details), has been setup to play perfectly by the techs in our shop, and comes with the original hardshell case.  We've had a lot of great SG's here over the years, but this could be one of the best players, and definitely one of the best of values.  Grab it now before its gone!
