It’s designed primarily for classic overdrives, distortions, fuzz, and wah pedals, but select modern pedals may also benefit. Leveraging the unique characteristics of carbon batteries, this power supply maintains optimal voltage and current—mimicking how tubes or transformers manage signal bursts to prevent clipping. While alkaline or lithium-ion batteries can be used, carbon batteries are recommended for best results. Battery consumption is minimized thanks to built-in Active Current Sensing technology, which cuts power when your pedalboard is off or unplugged.
Although it can function alone, pairing it with a standard pedalboard power supply is ideal. To determine compatibility, check if your pedal’s LED turns off immediately when unplugged from power; this indicates it’s suited for the Vertex system.
