Used and Vintage Acoustic Guitars

As many players know, Yamaha puts out some of the best affordable acoustics - and this one that we just took in represents that perfectly.  It's a limited edition 50th Anniversary FG-180 that's in excellent condition, comes with the original hardshell case, and has been setup to play perfectly by the techs in our repair shop.

It's been over 50 years since Yamaha introduced the original FG180 which quickly became the first love of countless musicians. Its iconic Red Label represented the heart of the instrument - a beautiful, soulful tone that has come to define Yamaha's acoustic guitars.  In 2016, Yamaha represented the FG180's milestone anniversary with the release of this model which came in a run of just 180 guitars.

The guitar is built to the exact same specifications as Yamaha's very first acoustic dreadnought. Even the original soundhole labels were revived. The solid Sitka Spruce top is treated with Yamaha's   Acoustic Resonance Enhancement (A.R.E.)  process to help it respond and sound like a well-loved broken-in vintage guitar.  This process was derived from Yamaha's violin manufacturing in an effort to reproduce the rich sounds of 200- and 300-year-old instruments. The FG180-50TH's top is precisely temperature, humidity, and atmospheric pressure controlled to give it the characteristics of the original FG180s.

It has a solid Sitka Spruce top with scalloped X bracing, providing excellent clarity and projection, with a solid Mahogany body that gives warmth and vintage tone.  It's perfect for accompaniment with vocals.  The guitar is with rosewood, cream and black binding, a black/white/cream ABS soundhole rosette, a urea nut and saddle, open gear chrome tuners, rosewood fingerboard and bridge, and a black pickguard.

We were thoroughly impressed with how nicely this guitar plays, and more so how full it sounds.  It's a winner for sure - make it yours today before it's gone.
