Vintage 1957 Gibson J-185 Sunburst Acoustic Guitar With OHSC

The J-185 first debuted in the early 1950's and made its mark as a distinct model from its fellow Gibson such as the SJ-200 with its more compact body and scale length. 

  

The Gibson J-185 features a solid Sitka spruce top with maple back and sides. This fantastic tonewood combination gives you ample projection with crisp highs, lows, and a legendary midrange. The body is double bound with tasty cream binding. The best part is that this vintage J-185 is extremely resonant and the finish and binding have all aged to perfection.  The patina on this one is beautiful.

 

The set neck is bound as well and features a fuller '50s neck profile with a rosewood fingerboard with the classic split parallelogram inlays. The headstock comes with the iconic Gibson logo and pineapple inlay. Everything you want from this model is here, you get the tortoise pickguard, rosewood bridge with cross inlays. While this vintage Gibson J-185 is pretty much all original, it does feature the quality upgrade of a K&K pickup added with a convenient endpin jack (specifically designed so that no drilling was needed).  It's an 1/8" jack, not 1/4", so we have included an adapter in the case (to put on the end of a regular 1/4" guitar cable). Now you have an amazing vintage acoustic that is transformed into an epic acoustic electric. Plug and play anywhere anytime. Another great upgrade is a Buzzy Feiten compensated nut that gives you incredible tuning stability and intonation.
