Used And Vintage

Here's a great find for Fender aficianados that wants a great vintage guitar that won't break the bank.  We are selling a vintage 1974 Stratocaster that we got from from the second owner, who traded for it less than a year after it was built.  He owned this gem for 51 years - now it's on the market for the first time since then.

The original owner bought it in 1974; other than the Schaller tuners and the replaced volume pot, all else on this Strat is original.  The tremolo arm, back plate, bridge cover, leather strap, and even the owner’s guide are all there!  We’ve even included the 1974 handwritten set list and lyric sheet from the original owner’s set list.

This instrument plays great.  Although all the frets seem to be evenly worn, there has not been any fret work and the action is fast and furious.  There are a few marks and dings on the body, but overall it's in excellent shape, especially considering it's age.  There is a bit of a "dig out" in the neck pickup cavity but it is not a route out - just some wood scraped out the bottom. There is also some staining on the rear of the body from tape.

The ‘BB” stencil on the original hardshell Fender case stands for “Bullet Boys’.  Mind you, this is not the the 80’s glam metal band from Los Angeles but the second owner’s band from Riverside, California that played the L.A. scene from 1977 to 1980.  Now, after rocking this guitar for 50 years, the current owner feels it’s time to share his axe with the rest of the world.  And when you open that Fender case you’ll find yourself transported back to 1974.

We've seen some great vintage Strats come in here, and this is definitely one that has really enamored us.  It has a great history, and now is ready for it's next lifetime of playing.  The guitar has been setup to play perfectly by the techs in our shop, so it's ready to go!
