Vintage 1976 Music Man HD One-Thirty 212 Guitar Amp Combo With Footswitch
We just took in a sweet vintage amp that you don't see very often. Straight out 1976, this Music Man 212-HD One-Thirty is a historic, highly sought-after 130-watt hybrid 2x12 guitar combo amplifier. Co-designed by Tom Walker and Leo Fender following his departure from Fender, this powerhouse is celebrated for its incredible clean headroom, immense volume, and excellent performance as a pedal platform.
Hybrid configuration featuring a solid-state preamp for crystal-clear reliability and a tube power section results in incredible tone and versatility. You get 130 Watts RMS, switchable to half-power (approx. 50–65 Watts) via a front-panel "Hi-Lo" power switch. The amp is loaded with the original Music Man heavy-duty ceramic magnet speakers (made by Eminence). A master volume and a global Deep/Normal voicing switch gives you plenty of flexibility. There are two channels to choose from:
Channel 1 (Normal): Volume, Treble, Mid, Bass controls, plus a dedicated Bright switch.
Channel 2 (Effects): Adds built-in analog spring reverb and optocoupler tremolo (Intensity/Speed) controls.
Frequently likened to a Twin Reverb, the HD One-Thirty offers a quick, dynamic response thanks to its solid-state front end. Designed to produce "bell-like" clean tones that maintain clarity even at high volumes, pushing the channel volume against the master volume results in a remarkably unique, responsive edge-of-breakup crunch. Its substantial low-end and pristine clarity have made it a preferred choice among musicians across various genres, from classic blues and country to contemporary shoegaze. Notable musicians known for utilizing Music Man HD-series amplifiers include Mark Knopfler and Johnny Winter.
