Fender Custom Shop Vintage Custom 1959 Esquire Time Capsule Faded Natural Blonde With Case

There are few guitars as formidable as the Esquire, a stripped-down workingman’s instrument that will chisel through any mix.  The simplicity of having just one pickup gives the guitar an extra edge of character that only Esquire players know about and that lets players create tones and sounds strictly based on inflections of the hands.  The Fender Custom Shop has absolutely nailed it with this one, as expected.

This Vintage Custom ’59 Esquire features a two-piece select ash body that's quite light - this guitar comes in at just 6.2 lbs.  This has the Time Capsule finish, providing an authentic lacquer feel that gives the appearance of a guitar presented to you straight out of a time machine.  It's a very thin finish, allowing the guitar to breathe and remain as expressive as it gets.  Faded Natural Blonde is perfect for this, and the wood grain shows perfectly underneath.

It has a perfectly crafted rift-sawn maple neck, with a fat 1959 “D” profile, vintage compound-radius fingerboard (7.25”- 9.5”) and 21 medium vintage frets.  It's super comfortable, and works great for both chord playing in the position and lead lines as you go into the higher registers.

A hand-wound ’58 Tele bridge pickup is wired to a vintage Esquire control assembly with a three-position blade switch.  The pickup is crafted to the original spec, with enamel wire, Alnico 5 magnets and a vintage stagger.  It provides all of the twang you could ever want, with the ability to clean up and get warm.  This may be a single pickup guitar, but it's surprisingly versatile.

Other features include a single-ply parchment pickguard, ’59 Esquire bridge assembly, vintage-style tuning machines, bone nut and single wing string tree with metal spacer.  Includes deluxe hardshell case, strap and certificate of authenticity.
