Martin OM-21 Standard Series Acoustic Guitar Natural with Case
The Martin OM has established itself as a classic Martin model, revered as a symbol of the modern acoustic guitar era. It was first released in 1930 as the Orchestra Model, a departure from prior 12-fret designs created since 1840. The 000-shaped OM provided robust, powerful sound perfect for orchestra and dance hall performances.
Offering fidelity to its 1930s forebear, the modern-day Martin OM-21 comes with a spruce top, rosewood back and sides, and select hardwood neck with ebony fingerboard and minimal embellishments that keep it budget-friendly yet sonically superior. A new addition to the Martin OM-21 is the Performing Artist neck profile, which has a shallow oval shape and thinner taper than the traditional OM neck shape.
This orchestra model is renowned for its finger-style playing and impressive tonal balance. Boasting scalloped X top bracing, the OM-21 offers a full, even sound ideal for both solo performances and group jams. A low modified oval neck, paired with Sitka spruce and rosewood, ensures dynamic control, along with a classic aesthetic enhanced by tortoise-colored binding.
