A collector of only unique, rare, vintage and high-end guitars & amps, he amassed a serious collection of these years. For the first time, these pieces are available on the market for the first time.
Within this is a killer 1968 Fender Deluxe Reverb. It has the original parts, including the speakers and transformer. It even has the original footswitch, which rarely comes with an amp like this. The grill cloth was replaced, which is common on these amps, and the back panel went missing some time ago. More details are listed below. We had this amp properly inspected and vetted by an outside source - an amp tech who is local L.A. legend and vintage expert. Everything is straight and tested to good working order.
A Fender Deluxe Reverb is one of the most iconic amps in the history of amp. This has been the "go to" model of choice for a number of players since its debut. The late 60's "silverface" era amps have taken on a life of their own - after being originally shunned by the vintage market, they've taken on a life of their own with a new generation of players, to the point where Fender reissued them a few years back. Vintage pieces like this one, with the full "drip edge" treatment, have become highly desirable. 20 watts and a single 12" speaker, powered and voiced by a mix of 6V6, 12AX7 and 5AR4 tubes, gives you all the tone you'll ever need. The reverb and vibrato really makes this amp what it is - and what it is a truly classic.
The condition of this Deluxe Reverb is excellent, especially considering its age. Be sure to check out the photos to see everything. This is a great looking amp....to say nothing of how it sounds. Full, balanced and rich - a Deluxe Reverb is the definition of the Fender sound. The amp was recently serviced and vetted by long-time L.A. area tube amp guru Greg Leon, and is good to go.
We've had a ton of vintage Fender amps here over the years, and this one stands out as one of the best. It would be a fine addition to any vintage amp collection.
