Lo & behold, here is a very cool, seldom seen Harmony Montclair acoustic archtop guitar, straight out of 1959.  Made in Chicago by Harmony, these are some of the most affordable while still being high quality archtops of that era.  You won't find many Montclair's out there, and certainly not many as nice as this one.

The guitar features maple back & side with a solid spruce top, and a great maple neck and Brazilian rosewood fretboard.  The arched top & back, F-holes, trapeze tailpiece and floating bridge combine to give it a unique look and sound.

The finish is original and so are the parts; there is no pickguard on this one.  While the case is not original, most people would probably prefer (in terms of protection) the nice hardshell case that this one comes with.  It's been setup to play perfectly, with a silky low-action feel.  The neck is straight, the joint is solid, and this one is super comfortable to play.  While the neck is beefy, it's not overly fat - the C shape is easy to grip and the 1.750" nut width provides plenty of room for maneuvering.  The frets still have plenty of life left in them.  The binding, while not perfectly clean (how could it be?) is intact and has held up surprisingly well.  This Montclair is in excellent shape, especially considering it's about to hit senior citizen status.  But it can still swing!
