Used And Vintage Electric Guitars

The SG is an iconic Gibson electric guitar. From its distinct slim body and double cutaway to its humbucking pickups, this is an instrument, played on countless stages and recordings.  If you're into guitars (we assume you are if you're reading this), you know how classic an SG is.  But have you seen one like this?

Completely refinished in Silver Sparkle, this early 70's Gibson SG Standard will stand out on any stage (or anywhere for that matter).  We don't have the full story, considering this was done decades ago, but the 70's were a  funky time.  Perhaps this was played with a disco band in New York.  Or a funk band in Miami.  Or maybe it was done in the 80's for a glam rock band strutting the stages of the Sunset Strip.  Who knows - but it's awesome.

The mahogany neck has a gorgeous rosewood fretboard and C shape that is very comfortable to play.  The guitar has been setup by the techs in our shop, and it's quickly becoming one of the favorites here in our store.  Not only because it plays great, but also because it sounds amazing.  And, the fact that a Silver Sparkle SG is a "never seen that before" type of guitar.

It appears that the serial number was removed when it was refinished, but then the serial number was etched on the back of the back plate.  So, perhaps it's serial number 1179752.  Or perhaps it's 912055, considering that was added to the back of the headstock, obviously after it was refinished.  We can't verify everything, but we did vett the guitar to quality it as an early 70's build.  Additionally, the Lyre tailpiece was retrofitted.  The original vibrola arm is in the case if you want it.  Speaking of the case, this one doesn't have the original, but it does come with a nice hardshell case that appears to be period correct.   As far we can tell, the rest of the guitar is original.

This is one of the more interesting pieces we've had here in sometime, and we don't think it will last long.  Get it now and proclaim your dedication to Sparkle motion!
