Here's a guitar that you don't see every day, and has become high in demand, especially this particular version.  RKS Guitars was considered a revolutionary manufacturer when it debuted in 2005 - the guitar world had never seen anything quite like it.  Co-founded by world-renowned industrial designer Ravi Sawhney and Rock N Roll Hall of Fame member Dave Mason (Traffic), the brand was a result of 4 years of design innovation development and collaboration.  The end result was a revolution in guitar design - the "open architecture" guitar.  These guitars were designed to appear to both the music enthusiast and professional musician alike.  They provide a highly desirable and unique aesthetic in addition to world-class playability and tonality. 

 This particular model, called the Sunburst, was part of the Original Solid Body Series.  It's the design that started it all for RKS, and a great example of the balance between old school tradition and total innovation.  Made right here in California, to the highest of standards, this guitar is truly something to behold.

It starts with the core, which begins life as a blank of the finest hand-selected hard maple and alder, cut to precise tolerances.  A ebony fingerboard is then bonded over twin reinforcing elements with a dual-action truss rod, providing the ultimate in both strength and flexibility.  The finished core is then bonded with a solid wood body shell.  It's a blend of precision CNC machine work, crafted programming and then hours of detailed finishing by the hands of luthiers.  This is how the guitar gets its unbelievable contoured shape.  It's topped with striking figured maple.  The photos look great may not even do it justice!

With a figured headstock, custom inlays on both the body and neck, and the beautiful 3-color sunburst finish, this guitar is a true classic.  It's unlike anything else we've had hear.

The guitar comes with the original hardshell case, certificate of authenticity and all of the other paperwork.  It was one of the first RKS guitars made, and according to the original owner, it was the second one sold, right here in Los Angeles.  It's an excellent opportunity to get a piece of unique guitar history.
