Used And Vintage Electric Guitars

Your eyes have landed upon this exquisite vintage reissue, a Gibson 1959 ES-225TD in a striking Vintage Sunburst finish.  There aren't many of these out there, especially as nice as this one.  Originally sold here at Truetone as a new guitar, it's now back in our hands again, and ready for it's next set of hands.  Thankfully the previous owner took great care of it, so this one is super clean.

The ES-225TD is an iconic 16" hollow-body but with a thin body. So you get the tonal roundness of a larger hollow-body but with the comfort of the thinner body. It is a resonant laminate body with a thick '59 neck profile. The neck also features a resonant rosewood fingerboard with binding.  The guitar has been setup to play perfectly by the techs in our shop, and it's as smooth as butter.

The heart of this guitar are its dual P90 pickups. These pickups give you big full tones with the clarity and chime of a single-coil.  The neck pickup uses Alnico III magnets and the bridge pickup uses Alnico II magnets. They also used matched sets of 550K audio taper pots to finish off the authentic wiring of this hollowbody beauty.

This is primo example of Gibson's archtop greatness.  The instrument is in excellent condition and comes with the Certificate of Authenticity, as well as the original hardshell case.  The case itself is a big roughed up (see photos) but the guitar is perfect.  We think that this one may fly out the door again fast, so if you're in the market for a killer ES-225, you may want to act faster!
