Used and Vintage Acoustic Guitars

1 OF ONLY 35 MADE

We recently were lucky enough to take in a small collection of extremely nice, rare Taylor guitars from a collection curated by a player with excellent taste.  A few of us were salivating over these, and tempted to buy them for ourselves.  But, we're in the business of selling and getting guitars into the hands of others.  So here's your opportunity....before one of us changes our mind!

We are proud to present this amazing limited edition XXXV-P.  It was part of a small run done in 2009, as part of Taylor's 35th Anniversary.  To celebrate that, Taylor honored requests from players around the globe with two very exclusive guitars, with the tagline of "you asked for it".  Both paired vintage acoustic concepts from yesteryear with signature Taylor modern craftsmanship.  One of them was this XXXV-P, a parlor guitar that’s compact in size but rich with tone.

The XXXV-P features a parlor body shape designed by Taylor’s Larry Breedlove, with a back and sides of Madagascar rosewood and a top of wide grain Sitka spruce. The mahogany neck joins the body at the 12-fret, while an ebony-topped slotted peghead is complemented by a bone nut and saddle. The bridge design, which draws from the Taylor Nylon Series bridge, is another unique feature.  A three-ring green heart abalone rosette (be sure to zoom in on the photos) and abalone dotted ebony bridge pins highlight the beautiful details of this all-gloss, small-bodied model, while parlor bracing and Taylor’s proprietary Expression System® pickup provide clear articulation with each strum.

The rare solid Madagascar rosewood was milled thinner than normal rosewood, for enhanced tone.  The Adirondack spruce CV bracing has shortened ends and scalloped contouring for extra flexibility to enhance top movement and tone through the Sitka spruce top.  This is not your normal parlor guitar, and is undoubtedly a unique specimen.  For a small body acoustic, the low end on this guitar is very robust, and there's a crystal clear top end.  It's surprisingly balanced, with more projection than one may expect.  We tested it out with a variety of styles, and were surprised at how versatile it is.  It's very comfortable to play, as expected, and has all of the quality that you'd expect out of a high-end guitar.  There's a reason that many players love Taylor, and this is a great, unique example of what they can do.

The guitar is in excellent, almost pristine condition, and comes with the original hardshell case.  This is a rare bird for sure - only 35 were made - so if this is something that you're considering, don't sleep on it.  Once it's gone, it's gone for good!
