Behold the Gibson EB-0 Bass, in a sweet "Cherry" finish, circa 1963.

For anyone that loves the feel of short scale basses, wants a piece of Gibson history and doesn't want to break the bank, this is a serious score.  It sounds amazing too - all of the classic low end thump and refined tone you'd expect.  It's suprisingly versatile. There's a reason that players as diverse as Jack Bruce, Jermaine Jackson, Mike Watt and Ronnie James Dio have counted on an EB-0 (yes, Dio played one - he used it to record with Elf in the early 70's).

The rivet tuners, fixed bridge and single pickup date this Kalamazoo, MI bass to about 1963 (Gibson serial numbers are difficult to date). The body on this bass was refinished many, many years ago to the point where it is very difficult to tell it was done, but our vintage expert here verified that it was and we wanted to disclose it. Whomever did the refinish did an excellent job! The neck has not been refinished.  The hardware is original and so is the case.

The bass has an easy to play neck with a rosewood fret board that has no finish issues. Round wound string are currently on the instrument but you could go with flats for a classic old school sound (if you want that, let us know and we'll restring it for you).  The bass has some checking and wear, as to be expected for an instrument that turns 60 this year!  It's made it that long and is ready to go for another 60.

The bass comes with original case, has been setup to play perfectly, and is ready for it's next set of hands!
