At Truetone Music, we are proud to partner with some of the greatest manufacturers, builds and musicians out there. We've had a lot of special collections here - and now we have one of our most special to introduce: the Pamelina H. Collection.
Pamelina H. is one of the most renowned guitar painters in the world. Her legendary work has adorned many Fender Custom Shop instruments, as well as ones built by Gibson, Ibanez, Jackson, Gretsch and many others. Her work is truly one of a kind, and we are proud to be working with Pamelina on this special project. In 2011, she partnered with a number of the world's top builders to create a batch of guitars, each of which has a corresponding painting by her. They have been held in her vault ever since, and now, more than a decade later, we are presenting them as the Pamelina H. Collection, exclusively here at Truetone Music.
One of the prize possessions in the collection is the "Just Marilyn" guitar, built by the legendary John Page and hand-painted by Pamelina H. Having previously worked together since his days as one of the founders of the Fender Custom Shop, they go way back. This guitar is a tribute to their history together, as well as one of America's most loved celebrities.
John Page is a legend in the guitar industry, and one of the world’s most renowned builders. Co-founder of the Fender Custom Shop, Page spent years creating a brand within itself and helped make Fender what it is today. He has created legendary guitars for artists such as Eric Clapton, Pete Townshend, David Gilmour, Elliot Easton and Cesar Rosas, and many more. He has also designed acclaimed guitars in conjunction with Harley Davidson, Playboy, Jaguar and more. Additionally, he directly taught and mentored many of the leading luthiers in the industry. With over 20 years at Fender and more than 50 years designing and building guitars, Page has achieved a status that few builders ever reach. Any guitar built by John Page holds special value, but here we have one that stands out as a one-of-a-kind piece as part of a special partnership.
In the early 90's, the Fender Custom Shop built a limited run of guitars to honor the iconic imagery of Marilyn Monroe in a playboy calendar. The design was a collaboration between John Page and Pamelina H, which would end up being her first production run with Fender. These guitars have become highly collectible and hard to obtain. In 2010, Pamelina reunited with John to create this one-off guitar. It features an ash body and pickguard painted by Pamelina, maple neck and rosewood fretboard, and HS pickup configuration, vintage T style bridge, unique fret markers, and chrome hardware.
To make it more special, the original artwork is included as part of the package. Please view the photos and zoom in to see the details. The painting itself is incredible, and paired with the guitar, this makes for quite the addition to any serious guitar/art collection. Also included is a print and Certificate of Authenticity.
The guitar has never been used - it's been in Pamelina's vault since it was built, and is now on the market for the first time. This isn't just an amazing instrument built by a legendary luthier; it's a work of art itself. Pamelina's unique style lends itself to mediums such as this, and the end result is amazing. There is only one of these out there, and it cannot be recreated. The combining of mediums, the fusing of music & art, and adding the touch of collectibility makes this extremely special.
